Musings, what a great word. These artful musings chronicle my journey as a mixed media artist.
Creating has been a constant in my life since I was young, from the first place drawing of a cow reading a book that I drew in third grade, to learning how to sew from my grandmother, knitting in 4H (yes, I know–dweeb), writing poetry and sketching. As I grew older, strong graphics and words influenced me, and I used my degree to work in the design industry with architects and engineers. I worked with some gifted young architects, photographers, graphic designers and business development professionals. As I raised my family, I switched gears and have worked in the food/travel industry for nearly two decades–still working visually.
Now that my children are in college, I have turned one son’s bedroom into my studio and am rapidly filling it with a lot of art supplies. Thank you for stopping by to read my artful musings.
Ciao!
Read through your “artful musings” for the first time this afternoon without interruption. I plan to do this daily if possible to try to understand this fascinating new addition to your life. In the meantime, I hope you have a very happy birthday tomorrow and I thank you again for coming by and beating the heck out of my neighbor and me at a dice game. Can this be a sealed “comment” so no one else will know that the dice game was “Farkle”..Love and happy artistic days devoid of dice. v
Love this blog and your Artwork Kathie!
You’re a constant inspiration!

Kathie, Having a bit of trouble with the comment section, not sure why. Anyhow, it was great to run into you today and tell you in person how much I enjoy your pictures whenever I am in Kathy’s shop. Also enjoyed Bellissima! So thanks for sharing it as well.

Hey Kathie~~~well, how can this be???? Your painting has 235 views, where as mine, only has 84? Something isn’t right here. I don’t know that works, do you?
